I had a physical today and I told the doctor about my anxiety about riding in vehicles and he prescribed paxil, I don't like taking meds so I checked it out on the internet and read a lot of bad things about it, and I'm thinking no way I would rather have the anxiety, have any of you had to take paxil, how was it?

I took it and lived. Seriously, if you look hard enough you can find bad stuff about every drug on the market, including aspirin! Very few of them are things that are so bad you can't recover from them simply by stopping taking them. For instance, I tried to take aspirin every day and the bruises made me look like I had leukemia. Now I take it every other day. If Paxil gives you side effects you don't like, there are plenty of other medicines you can try instead. What it boils down to is, are you willing to live with your current level of anxiety or do you want to do something about it? Personally, I don't like irrational fears, so I'd take the meds. On the other hand, a situational phobia like that can often be cured fairly quickly by some therapy, so you might want to try that first or as well.
