he doesnt seem like he wants me..any ideas?

He's not shy arouund me, he seems interested in me when we're together in person but not over the phone. Today he was supposed to meet me sumwhere and when i got there he wasnt there. I called him and he said he was sick and at home. I just hung up. what do i do? all his friends are "attached" to their girlfriends. But he doesnt show the same interest in me as i do to him. It feels like im the only one trying to communicate.
