When you are not feeling well, your body can be different in its chemistry, especially with the flu, when one is weak and is not eating much. Thie altered state can make you more affected by outside psychic energy, because your energy field is not interferring as much in regards to your reception of this energy. This is less true with a cold, but your discomfort could affect the intensity of your dreams. Being chased in dreams may means your running away from something emotional or somes issues in your life you should be addressing. Or that negative energy from people or the environment is scaring you. Being alone can mean you feel like your not understood, or are different. It may mean you have a hard time connecting with people. The feelings and context, as well as the ending of dreams tell you a lot. You want to have dreams end better than they start, in order to show you are processing the feeling in a positve way that the dream is dealing with.

Everyone dreams every night but you don't always remember them because you are sleeping soundly. When you get a cold or have the flu, you tend to wake up more often because of your symptoms. When that happens, you will be able to remember that dream. If you could get up at that very moment and write it down, you will be able to recall them in the morning. If you just go back to sleep immediately, you probably only have a slight memory or no memory of them at all. I have always had strange dreams when I have had the flu, even sleep walking with fever. Medications can also be a factor.

If you are taking anything for cold/flu symptoms, that may be the issue right there. They can be a little on the mind-altering side. I had a friend quit smoking by using the patch, and every night she had the patch on she had strange dreams.
