Where to begin? OK, when I was in my teens I did something somebody could have thrown me in jail for if they wanted to. Some ten years later I called up this person I hadn't seen since then to apologize for who I was back then. While I didn't specificly name what I did, they knew what I was talking about, and told me something like "Don't worry about it, we were just kids." I even have repented to God but the guilt still haunts me. So that's one. How do I get over it?

Next, 15 years of being self-employed and I don't make any good money at it. Believe me, it's beyond hope. Got no kids, wife, house, retirement, savings, degree, and am 20K in debt at 6% fixed. Still live at home at 40.

Careers? Got bad vision in one eye so can't get a CDL. Was interested in a trade I thought I'd be good at but was told by some I'm too old. College? I can't do algebra so that limits my options. Tech School? Open to ideas.

Years ago I worked in a warehouse and felt so trapped. A safe but pointless job. It's like I want more but am afraid to persue it, or don't feel worthy of it, or am afraid of new things.

All my life I've suffered from mild forms of anxiety with severe depressive episodes. Did some couseling in the past which only went so far. For instances, couldn't tell her what I did as a teen, just that it was bad. Recently an MD put me on Lexapro.

Life? What can I say, I'm afraid of it. Don't feel worthy or strong enough. Amazed how others cope. I'm afraid of what I can't do, yet don't know what I can do...or what I want to do in life. I feel those who do are blessed.

I'm almost to the point of trying for mental disability because of the way I feel. I almost envy people on it who don't have to make their way in life. How weak of a person is that. It's like life is pretty pointless now. I do get some comfort praying to God but it seems others get more out of it. Maybe I'm not worthy?

We were put on this earth to serve God and to lead others to Christ. Are you truly seeking God and walking with the Lord or do you have "one foot in the world and one foot in heaven" ?

If you have not truly surrendered yet to the Lord, then you will continue to have these struggles until you just say, "Okay, Lord I really do need you".

Jer 29:12
Then you will call upon Me
and go and pray to Me,
and I will listen to you.

He is knocking at the door.....let Him in. Tell Him, you WANT Him to guide you and be Lord of your life. Get into a Bible based church, get into fellowship with other followers of Christ. When you are feeling down, they will lift you up.

Read the Bible. The Lord speaks to you through it. You can be having a major struggle in a certain area of your life, and then, bingo, you get your answer as you are reading. He really does speak to you through His living word!

I have done many, many, many things when I was younger. I thought they were unforgivable. I thought I was "stuck" with no hope of going anywhere in life.

But, one day, I cried out to the Lord. He has forgiven me of everything. My name is now marked in the book of life. He and only He has made me a new person. I am a completly different person than I was.

Jer 29:11
For I know the thoughts
that I think toward you,
says the Lord,
thoughts of peace
and not of evil,
to give you a future and a hope.

There is Hope! He has a plan for you!

Remember, the devil is a liar. He lies to you and tells you these things that you are thinking. He tells you there is no hope in life. He tells you that you are unworthy. These thoughts you have come from the devil.

Resist the devil and he will flee!

Brother, I suggest you get on your knees tonight and really, really ask the Lord to help you. You also need to ask for healing. Healing of your heart, so these memories do not consume you anymore. You need to ask for protection from the attacks of the enemy over your mind.

God bless you for seeking help. God bless you for humbling youself and posting this question.

I will pray for you!

In Christs love ;0)

Can you drive a bus? It doesn't take much to be happy if you know what happiness is? Instead of listening to man, start asking questions to God and allow his word to answer, then follow what his word says. For example why does God allow suffering?
(1 Corinthians 10:13) . . .No temptation has taken YOU except what is common to men. But God is faithful, and he will not let YOU be tempted beyond what YOU can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out in order for YOU to be able to endure it.
So how can you help yourself? Start taking in accurate knowledge from God's word, by asking questions.
Here is a scripture to read and think about Psalms 37: 9-11,29. Did Jesus agree with this ? Read Mathew 5:5
Would you like to live in peace and security? on God's planet forever? then read John 17:3 this is where you start.

Feeling Secure Now—Being Secure Forever
The fisherman returns home in his pirogue and is met by a foreign expert serving in this developing country. The expert asks the fisherman why he is back so early. He replies that he could have stayed out longer but that he had caught enough to care for his family.

“And now, what do you do with all your time anyway?” the expert asks.

The fisherman responds: “Well, I do a little fishing. I play with my children. We all have a siesta when it gets hot. In the evening, we have supper together. Later, I get together with my friends for some music, and so on.”

The expert interrupts: “Look, I have a university degree and have studied these matters. I want to help you. You should stay out fishing longer. You would earn more and soon be able to purchase a bigger boat than this pirogue. With a bigger boat, you would earn still more and soon be able to build up a fleet of trawlers.”

“And then?” the fisherman inquires.

“Then, instead of selling fish through a middleman, you could negotiate directly with the factory or even start your own fish-processing plant. You would be able to leave your village and move to Cotonou, or Paris, or New York and run the whole thing from there. You could even consider putting your business on the stock market and earn millions.”

“How long would that all take?” the fisherman asks.

“Perhaps 15 to 20 years,” the expert answers.

“And then?” the fisherman continues.

“That is when life gets interesting,” the expert explains. “Then you could retire. You could move away from the hustle and bustle of it all to some remote village.”

“And what then?” asks the fisherman.

“Then you have time to do a little fishing, play with your children, have a siesta when it gets hot, have supper with the family, and get together with friends for some music.”

Life must begin at conception. If a baby is alive, its stages of development have to be alive too. A long time ago, people used to believe that maggots came from rotting meat and believing that a living baby comes from a nonliving fertilized egg is kind of a variation of that. It's called spontaneous generation, belief that living things arise from nonliving matter, which was proven wrong centuries ago by some brilliant scientist named Francisco Redi. He proved that life doesn't come from inanimate objects. Life comes from life. Therefore, a living baby must come from a living fertilized egg. As for the issue of whether or not a preborn baby is separate from the mother, it's definitely separate from the mother because it does something that parts of a woman's body do not do. It grows and develops into a separate human being, a potential that a woman's tonsils, kidneys, or other organs don't have. All other parts of a woman's body don't grow into anything other than themselves. But, a fertilized egg grows into something completely different.

You need to stay positive. God is a positive force and with him all things are possible if you believe in your heart with no doubt.

The negative force tells you all the things you wrote... it will hold you back and keep you where you are.

When the spirit of belief comes into you, you will feel peace. If your faith be even as big as a mustard seed you can say unto this mountain, move into the sea and it will.

A little faith goes a long way. I should know, my situation is like your own. Yet with God I know it's all gonna work out and suddenly all my fears and worries are gone.

1. You are better at organizing and putting down ideas than many college graduates I know. Don't knock your ability to further your education.

2. You can learn Algebra. Trust me.

3. Some one told you you couldn't do something so you gave up? Screw them: do it just to spite them.

You can accomplish a good deal if you try, or you can accomplish nothing and be miserable if you so wish. My advice would be to talk to a career counselor and admissions rep from a local community college and go from there.

Don't sell yourself as cheaply as you have been, and don't justify failure of courses you haven't even taken.

RE: ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Mental health issues can be disabling, but you obviously want to explore options and are aware of the problem. You must, however, be honest with your counselor. Patient confidentiality can be a good thing, as it enables you to talk to the doctor candidly: take advantage of the opportunity. Meanwhile, keep in mind that you are a valuable human being.

AND: you are as worthy or unworthy as any of us. The question is of what we are or are not worthy...

You can try praying to God to show you what you need to do and write it in your heart. Whatever advice He gives you, to follow it, even if it means sacrifing stuff.
I'll pray for you.

You can try postal work All is needed is high school diploma, and you're over 18. You do, however, need to obtain a book to study from and the thing is, you don't get to pick the office you work at; you get assigned one, so make sure you got ample transportation first. Let them know you cannot be a carrier because of your inability to drive.

You can see if you can work two shifts at UPS.

Working for yourself does seem more fun and convenient, but is it worth it if it puts a dent in what you want from life such as if you want wife and kids? I'm not saying a woman should care about your money, but it's important that one of you has enough before marriage and kids.

Sorry, that's the best I can give you. I'll try to think more for you!

Best of luck.

You have already given up on yourself....

Buck up...

You can do anything you want to...you can learn algebra...you may just have to try harder than some might....

Nothing in this world that is worth anything is easy....40 is young....you could have another 60 years in front of you...so get off of your butt, and do something about your messed up life....no one else can do it for you...no one else can give you the answers.

Father, here is one who is in need of faith and strength. Lord place Thy Hand upon him and guide him towards You. Show Him that all things are possible with Faith and by You O' God. I ask these small things in Jesus' Name, Amen!

First of all God has already forgiven all of your sins. You just haven't forgiven yourself. Ask God for peace in that and also seek his guidance in all areas of your life. God Bless you!

Even with God, nothing is possible unless you change your attitude and attract positive energy instead of negative energy. What you focus on (lacks, etc) grows. So I would pull myself up and refocus to something positive, anything.
