It sounds as though you're a good person already. I don't think you are someone who needs a religion to tell you how to behave. As you've pointed out though, most religions do have a moral code or guidelines to follow.
By asking questions of religion, you allow yourself to grow spiritually. Trust yourself and the right answers will always come.

I don't need a set of guidelines to tell me how to live. I'm living a perfectly happy and moral life as an atheist. Deciding whether something is right or wrong based on what a book tells you doesn't get you very far in life.
Sorry, but I'm gonna stick to human-made laws. At least they mean something to me.

I never think that it is good to opt for something because there is a lack of a better alternative. I believed many things when I was younger because I didn't know anything else. Once I started to think things through, I found freedom in that.
I don't follow a specific religion, but I still believe that "good" people go to "good places". So far, my life has been very enjoyable.

nope. Your type of thinking is only true is you can't live a fulfilling and moral life without religion. Since you can your point of view really doesn't make much sense.
Religion also instills the idea that we are sinners and need to repent. You are forever reminded that you have fallen short and at any moment can be punished. I really don't see how that is better then truly being free.

No, there are a lot of people who don't need a religion to bring morals into their lifes. I kinda asked myself the same question many years ago, but the answer is definitely no.

I say no. The reason being that just because you have a religion that tells you to be a good person, it doesn't make you such. Actually religion can't make you a good person, that is something you have to do yourself.

People shouldn't have a religion just for the sake of having one. To belief in something without evidence (whether it be spiritual supernatural experiences or reason) is unethical.

No. I had religion in my younger years and was desperately unhappy. Ever since I walked away and have thought deeply about the many inconsistencies in the Bible, I am glad I am no longer a sheep being led to....whatever...

I would rather live according to reality than artificially impose an arbitrary "fable" upon my life in a quest for a degree of meaning...

You should consider Theosophy because a theosophist belongs to no one cult or religion but, belongs to all. It is a religious science, the science of religion. Check it out.
