I am a 16 year old who does NOT get along with my mother. She calls me "overly- dramatic" when i tell her something that bothers me. We get no where. I end up getting mad at her, and then she takes away my cell phone. This is a new routine. Then, when i apologize, she yells at me.

Just remember you only have 2 more years and then you are on your own. You can find an apartment, do whatever you want, find a job, pay bills, and you won't have to argue with her ever again. Or maybe she will get hit by a bus and not come home tonight. You don't know how lucky you are, I'm 44 yrs old and would give anything I have to have my mother back, she passed away in 2006, and I miss her so much. Being a teenager is very hard, but so is being a mother of a teenager, (I have 3 sons 25, 23, 17). I made it through 2 of them with just a few scrapes, but my youngest is the one who has given me all my gray hairs, lol. I wouldn't trade him though. Good luck, hun it will get better.

That sounds familiar. Hang in there. This is a tough time for you and for her. Try sitting down to discuss your concerns with her and don't raise your voice. Maybe practice doing it before you talk to your mom. When she accuses you of being "overly dramatic", just say, "I am upset about this and trying to find a way to deal with it". Something like that, but don't raise your voice at all.
