Oh oneye. Even a scientist doesn't want answers. They can be all so confusing. All a scientist wants is facts that will bring on the truth. People hate that, you know.

I do not think anyone understands atheism. The devotees of a dogma get very little information except maybe that we are little devil people. To imply we are scientists is absurd of course, but they have never read anything that was younger than 2000 years and it can only be ONE specific book and are specifically told not to read or learn anything except what the leaders of their packs teach, so what can you expect?
But I certainly have been called worse, so a scientist is complimentary to me.

because science is seen as going hand in hand with reason, and religion goes hand in hand with "faith" (in my opinion this is nothing more than beleif without reason) so by saying you are atheist, you are assumed to be a man of reason, and therefore must embrace science, not every atheist is a so called scientist, but i will assume that 3/4 or more are scientifically minded, if not all of us.

For the same reason that any stereotype exists.
There are plenty of examples of the stereotypical (insert whatever here) that you can point almost every day.
Atheist physicist (yes I am one of those examples)

Because believers conflate atheism with evolution, the big bang, and abiogenesis; even though the dictionary clearly defines an atheist as 'one who lacks belief in gods', no more.

Well Professor Patch, it's like this, if you take the square of blind belief and multiply it by several million what do you get? You get a very easily manipulated mass of highly gullilble people don't you.
