Religion exists. I can see a church from where I am siting.

Here's a good comment to that article from that page:
"I think at some point in the future you'll read this and be embarrassed. It really sounds like a term paper, happily using words and forcing meaning into them. In the sense you use it, the term "believe in religion" is meaningless; you are trying to invent some sort of fallacy, some inherent contradiction. But, as another commenter has said, religion exists. To deny that would be like, oh, denying evolution or global warming. So yeah, I "believe in" religion, like I believe in the sun. Which is not to say that that in some way conflicts with atheism, which is based on reality. The reality is, religion is all around us. You think you've discovered a paradox. Whereas a life of the mind is enjoyable, you've wasted your energy on this one."

You're right, That was pretty bad.
It's very much like many arguments that I see here.
Step 1 - Make up what you think those 'other' people believe. Usually very far from the reality.
Step 2 - Argue against what you just made up.
Step 3 - Ignore everyone who points out that they don't actually believe what you just made up.
Step 4 - Declare derisively that those 'other' people never answered your question.
What's funny is that one of these people is right below me. In her honor I'll add...
Step 5 - Declare that you know better that 'those' people what they believe then block anyone who points out that you're wrong.
Does that cover your strategy Angeltress?

Well... I agree that I might die of old age if I tried to read that. I can't even figure out if the person actually believes in anything themselves.... they just go on and on and on with "big" words that hold no meaning in the context they use them in. I wish people would speak clearly instead of trying to impress others. I mean, I am not suggesting people dumb down their vocabulary, but they also don't have to insert five pound words into every sentence!
Amazing, what abysmal superciliousness!

Wow, a whole article on the ability to tell the difference between the religious and non-religious. Brilliant, then he goes on to distinguish himself as a non-Marxist atheist, as if we need more categorization.
Not a bright one, I'm afraid.

I agree it was long, I didn't read the entire thing, I don't have THAT much time. I think some people really can't believe that there are people who don't believe in god, so they try to explain "us" to make themselves feel good about their beliefs.

You're right - I'm not going to read it.
The only answer I can see to "why do atheists believe in religion" is "because they see it around them all the time". Not particularly enlightening, but at least it's the truth.

I do not believe in Religion. I can observe and KNOW that religion exists. I do not have to "believe" that it does.
Knee slapper, that one.
