Partition your hard disk.
Install XP.
Install Vista.

You then get a choice at boot.

Easy! "Boot" Vista out of the Window until Microsoft get it right. They should not be selling this dross as an operating system. If it were anybody else other tham Microshite, they would be sued like crazy. It is a worthless piece of gubbins designed to make more money for their failing sales.

If you really, really feel you need Vista for some obscure reason,by all means partitition up your hard drive. (Can recommend Partition Magic 6). Be prepared for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse to descend on you very quickly. Then post on Yahoo Answers, "Why isn't my dual-boot system working?" and get loud shrieks of laughter from anyone who knows what they are talking about.

Simple answer "Don't!"

You'll need two partitions if your laptop has only one drive. This requires a reformat so make sure you back up your stuff. Install one OS on the first partition and the other on the second partition. Take a look at this article to help you partition:

A quick google search on installing operating systems should help you a lot too.

Good luck :D

depends on your computer. some computers do not support duel boot OS. So your first step will be contacting your computer manufacture and ask if duel OS is supported. Next step is asking them how? They will and can walk you threw the steps. If not there is another option, software wise called virtual machines. You can install the OS into the software and decide how big the space and everything. I use this personally to test programs and run scripts so it doesn't damage my personal OS.
