No, I am not doing this on company time, but even if I were, its not the same as tax payer's time.

Company time is not the same as tax payer time? So you can screw off at work occasionally and the police can't? What if your company is private, but does mostly government contracts...Can you check the internet there? Because it is ultimately tax payer money.

I generally don't get access to the internet while at work. But if I'm in the detention area waiting for someone to bond, filling in for dispatch or just have down time for whatever reason, I will check my email and see if anything interesting is on here.

Are you doing this on company time? Don't come here to pick on the officers that take the time to log on and answer the questions that some of these idiots ask... Like: "Can I fight a speeding ticket because the cop didn't have me sign the ticket?"

I venture to say that most cops who are working right now are too busy to on the internet. Most cops don't have access to the internet at work. Their too busy getting yelled and whined at by 18 to 22 year olds about how they weren't going that fast and how they need to eat more donuts. Or my personal favorite, "I pay your salary". News flash, cops pay taxes too. So, actually they pay themselves.

You have to be kidding when you ask a question like this.....
"Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night, only because tough men and women, both domestically and internationally, stand ready to do violence on their behalf"
George Orwell

Do you mean that they are assigned by their department to come on here and answer questions? That is EXTREMELY unlikely.

Now could they be posting during some free time while on duty.

Yes, and thanks for the Christmas bonus. It'll come in handy on the things I don't steal and really have to pay for.
