My ps3 freezes every so often, maybe 4-5 times a week when I am gaming. It usually freezes at the ps screen (outside a game) when I just dl a file or something of that sort. Is this normal or should I exchange my PS3 for another?

It's updated to the newest release, just did so 2 nights ago. It has plenty of space although i have it sitting down and not standing, heard that might help.

Disable the information board in the top right hand corner of the main menu.

Also if it happens when you are playing a demo it is the demos fault. not the ps3

Also if have a interrrupted wifi connection even though you are playing offline the ps3 will attempt to regian connection sometimes locking the game up. My suggestion if this is the case would be to sign out of the playstation network before playing offline.

Hope this helps.

1). Try to update it to 2.10;
2). Does it happen when you play a certain game?
3). Does it have enough space for cooling (at least 10cm around it)?
If none of the above and update won't help - contact Sony.

are you using a HDMI cable?

some times these create problems. when it frezzes take out the HDMI cable for a few seconds and plug it back in.

if not it may have a problem so call sony tell them your problem or take it back and get a new one.
