Yes, I believe most People, do get that urge. Especially, this time of the Year, and also when the weather is nice. I don't even want to come back on Payday, I have direct deposit.

Happy Holidays.

When I used to work in someone else's space, I'd get the urge to go on a lunch break and never come back.

I heard my insane boss screaming my name at the other end of the building one time. I started to walk to his office but just turned left and walked out the front door. I went and visited some friends in another building for several hours, then came back and resolved the problem.

Yes, if by lunch break you mean happy hour and by payday you mean never.

Every single day. Now I just bring my lunch and stay at work. Helps me fight the urge to leave.

not at this job...but at one job, i did just hand my key to the b*tchy secretary that i worked with and tell her i couldn't handle this any more, and walked out.

long story -- i'll try to make it short -- this other lady had been there a long while in a family company (not her fam, but she was close to the fam who owned actually several related co's under one roof.)...i came in to take over for a college student who was leaving, and just began by doing general filling-in admin stuff wherever needed. the sister (ofc mgr) left for 6 wks to have surgery, and meanwhile i took over doing payroll and other bookkeeping for one brother (prez of one of the co's). he really liked my work, but when she came back she felt stabbed in the back. so i got caught in the middle, and my 'new boss' was really understanding of my position, but since it was his fam and they were really close (like fam dinners all the time, etc) he had to side with them and told me if i had to quit, to do what i needed to do cuz the tension could be cut with a knife. so out i walked!! i loved that job, too....
