Hey ladies!!
I was just selected to be the Ombudsman for North Island ( Coronado ) base! I am also a Navy Wife!
I am very excited to start training in January. I need some help!
I want to know, what are some of the biggest concerns of all the Navy wives whos husbands are deployed? What could an Ombudsman do that would provide you with the most support? Any help would be appreciated!

I spoke with the Capt. and I understand my responsibilities, but he asked me to find out what it is that Navy Wives, and families need. Or, how they feel! Any other help would be very appreciated!!!!

New Ombudsman here, too, also training in January (NIOC Suitland). Our biggest concern is IA deployments and how to handle the communication lines between ourselves and the sailors who are attached to Army and Marine units. .

Make sure you know where to draw the line between being the Ombudsman and acting as an FRG Coordinator. two very different scopes of responsibility.

our job is INFORMATION and passing on resources and acting as the go between the families and the Command. we are NOT necessarily the support group.. That's the FRG's job.
