What kinda system/program should i get?

i want to make my own beats/rythems. now i know i can do that on Garageband, but i want to REMIX songs.

so what kinda system/program would i need?

Any program that claims to be a "music studio" program should do nicely. Voyetra and Cakewalk are two brands that jump to my mind. But many others exist.
