Rayon is a beautiful fabric, but I would not advise using it for recovering your chair. It does get wrinkling a lot and even if you press it, or steam it, it quickly discolors. Any water spots or stains always leave a mark on the fabric as well, which can't be fixed. If you have children, keep in the mind that they love to climb furniture and rayon is especially sensitive to tears and rips. It's very much like silk. If you don't like a strong cotton, have you considered a nice linen blend? Also check the combo of the rayon, ... I have seen 20% rayon, 80% cotton, which might make for a stronger fiber. Good luck!

No, it's made from polyester and that doesn't take dye. Tulle comes in so many different colors now that you should be able to find the color you need or want at a fabric shop.

Did you check Wal_Mart, Joann's Fabrics, Mic heals, or Hobby Lobby. They have tulle in lots of colors, and at Hobby Lobby it is often on sale.

Tulle is made of 100% nylon and nylon is incredibly easy to dye. You can use Dylon, Tintex, Rit or any acid dye. Make sure you disolve your dye crystals in hot water and keep your dye bath heated during the dyeing process. Use a teaspoon of salt and 1/3 of a cup of vinegar in the dye bath too ensure even dyeing without spots.

No...tulle is manmade...only natural...or almost all natural fibres will pick up dye. Ebay have a lot of tulle on sale.

Have you tried Walmart? Last year I bought black tulle from Walmart (they had to order it) for very cheap. Good luck!

Go to walmart and buy the black tulle there, it's like $0.97/yard. Cut it into the squares you need.

I would advise against dying anything that comes in contact with food and encourage you to special order it.
