Correct if I am wrong, it just seems like it is only the Christians who have a problem with accepting global warming. Why?

Dude, that is exactly what I was thinking. Almost like if they accept the scientific findings about global warming they would have to accept the mountains of proof about evolution.

Thanks to Barbie for proving my point.

A couple of great arguments for global warming not being man made and a natural occurrence. Thanks. You made me think.

The fact that Gore drives an SUV is proof of nothing. LOL!!!

I didn't know that we did reject global warming, I'll make sure I add it to the list of things I didn't know that I believed and didn't believe in as a Christian until some whack job on Yahoo Answers told me...Let's see, I apparently believe the Earth is only 6,000 years old and flat, I apparently don't believe in dinosaurs and am afraid of science, I apparently want a theocracy and now I don't believe in global warming.

Boy, I sure am glad you people are here to tell me what I believe and don't believe in.

That being said, it's not global warming that I don't believe in, it's that it's man made that I don't believe in. We are in a natural cycle. Other planets in our system are experiencing the same thing, but the last time I checked there weren't SUV's cruising around on Mars.

Fear global warming? Oh come on.

Accept Global warming? Why would I buy the junk science that slick hucksters are pawning off to make a few bucks. That you are an lemming doesn't mean I have to be. I find it odd that Atheist who believe that things need to be proved so easily buy into the global warming myth.

That is not to say that global warming is a myth but that we have anything more than a nominal effect on it is a myth and the fact that we could do anything about it even if its true.

Fact mean averaged Tempurture has gone up a whopping half a degree in the last sixty years.

Fact even though the poles had record melting of the ice cap this year it is freezing even faster and is currently at a point where it should be come February in a normal year.

Fact The oceans tempatures have gone down by .20 this year which has a huge effect on ... global cooling.

Fact The US a non signer or the kayoto (or whatever) treaty only increased its green house gasses by 6%. Other none signers averaged 10%. Those nations who did sign the treaty increase theirs by 20% and yet your hero cult figure and God Algore says that America is the number one contributer and needs to pay till it hurts. He went to the conferance on his privat jet.

Fact Have you people been listening to the news? 60% of the US is covered by a sheet of snow and ice and I'm supposed to believe that the oceans are going to rise and kill us all in 20 years.

You all need to get a grip on reality. Global warming and global cooling are a part of the earths cycle. Get over it and live your life and stay out of mine.

You guys are fruitcakes and really have made science your God and point the finger at anyone who won't believe your faith and say "Sinner! Your going to .... um... Drown!" Idiots.

You must be from UK right? You people eat all that GW crap up. Only Christians? You hold yourself up as some kind of educated intellectual and use a sweeping generilization like that? lol

There are plenty of scientists that think man made GW is bunk. Only the UN driven socialists are pushing catostrophic global warming in an efferot to tax 1st world countries into the the stone age.

30 years ago they said it was carbon that was cooling the earth. Agenda driven.

The earth warms and cools in cycles and has done so every 1500 years as far back s we can tell.

read some more books instead of lapping up gore's drivel.

Ignorance doesenot become you.

PSS Tzadiq - NICE!

This is news to me. I never heard that, although it has been mentioned several times in R & S.

I don't fear global warming. and it doesn't threaten the Bible, either. Not for me, at any rate.

God bless you. †

Just in passing, what Christians have made this assertion?

Because it's Science and if people start to believe in Science with one thing...
Well you know one thing leads to another and it's slippery slope on the financial graph.
It doesn't talk about climate change in the good book so therefore it can't be true.

But if it is true and it's not in the god book then people will start asking questions.
And god forbid that they might start finding answer.
No, no, no.
Better to stay in the dark ages.

There seems to be a contradition in your questions. You say fundies fear global warming yet they have a problem accepting it? Why would they fear something they deny?

It may be more of a matter of them viewing global warming as some politically left tactic to undermine conservatism. So in this respect, it may be more of a political threat to them, than a religious one.

I don't think it's fear as much as they just don't care because it doesn't fit in with their theology. They believe they will be raptured and taken away from this earth, they also believe the earth was given to them by their deity to use as they will. Since they don't really see a 'future' for this planet - it's merely and object to be used and disposed of at will - they don't care that it is a non-sentient living entity and needs care.

I've never really made that connection before. I know that mostly republicans reject global warming science, but I never realized that they're also mostly Christian.

Maybe they think it's part of God's plan.

I don't accept global warming, other than it's a natural phenomenon and nothing to do with how humans live their life.

I am not a Christian.
