She was being serious, and if that was your serious reply then you're both not on the same wavelength.
That sounded like a "jerk" response and that's why she got angry. Women take love a bit more seriously than guys do and when they ask such questions they expect a sincere answer, no jokes!

she is wanting a little more emotion and romance than a chippy dinner mate get it sorted or loose the girl she wants a declaration of love like a cuddle and a passionate embrace real love not scum fricken chippy dinner you got to show a little more or let her go to find that romance you can't give or find inside you i tell my wife i love her every day treat her like she is my whole reason for living buy her champagne and cook for her take her to the best places to eat out we go to the theatre the cinema all that kind of stuff if i told her i buy you fish n chips don't i / she would divorce me for mental cruelty

why would you joke like that though and say what you buy her? She is being serious and wants a simple answer. Maybe to fix this you can show her that you love her so she does not have those doubts....

Seem perfectly reasonable, she must be posh. You should have said "One purchases Fillet O fish and fries for one doesn't one. She probably say's she arriving rather than "Aghhhh I'm Coming"
