i may be a sheltered big city slicking yankee who likes to hunt, but i also like to use facts when i make statements, and i recognize that not everyone agrees with us. gallup poll had this included when they did an animal rights poll. it may not have been designed specifically to consider hunting, but it does address the issue directly.

Only 15% of people who are eligible to participate in the Sport of Hunting in America actually do Hunt, that means that 85% choose not to Hunt.* As far as the percentage out of that 85% that agrees or supports Hunting, no one could possibly know with any degree of certainty.* It just would be a guessing game.* There is no data or information to positively give you an accurate answer to your question.*

Sorry, I don't have any numbers for you. But I think the majority of Americans do, it is only those people who live sheltered lives in the big cities and have no idea what hunting is about that are against it.
