Can anybody that has used one of these things please tell me how they worked for you? Did it help relieve your back pain?

I haven't used one, but there are other solutions. Assuming you do not have any injuries, an easy back stretch is as follows.
Sit in a chair with your feet well apart. Lean forward slowly and let your hands touch the floor. Let your head bend forward. Relax and take slow deep breaths. Stay ther for a few minutes, breathing slowly and relaxing. The weight of your body gradually stretches your back.
When you finish, sit up slowly so you do not tense you back again.

The inversion table made my pain much worse. Of course, my back pain was being caused by a herniated disk. Most of the inversion tables and boots are really hard on your knees. I had just about every therapy known short of surgery. The best result I got was from acupuncture.
