I don't know what it's called but there is a vaccine for it that I want to get my dog as there are a lot of these animals around my house! If you know the name of it please let me know!!!!

Lepto????

Ask your vet about the vaccine. I think there is more than one strain of Lepto. I also think the vaccine needs to be done every 6 months.

If it is a public health concern in your area, your vet should know about it and know what to vaccinate for. I live in the NE and we really don't have a problem with Lepto...although it is around.

I haven't heard of that, but I'd love to read about it if you could supply a link.

ADD:
Thanks for providing the link. I have heard of Lepto, but is not apparent in my area. However, my dogs are vaccinated against it. Dogs are usually vaccinated with DHLPP which includes the Lepto vaccine.

DHLPP Distemper, Hepatitis (CAV-2), Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus (combined canine vaccine)

You should talk with a vet to ease your concerns.
