Well you must be really wise to be getting your wisdom teeth so young.... just kidding I got my first one young too and it was very painful until we got it extracted. you need to talk to your parents right away before it gets infected or impacted.

Likely your wisdom teeth are on their way. However, it is not too uncommon to get an infection (pericoronitis) during that time. It is advisable to see a dentist who can remove the infected area to stop the pain and to likely keep it from getting worse. I would definitely see a dentist if it hurts even to chew in other areas because that would mean the tissue is creeping over your back tooth and will likely get worse (possibly much worse) before it gets better. If it is any comfort, usually this is taken care of fairly easily in a dental office. Take care.

Could be. How old are you? The youngest I think I've seen this is in 16 year olds, so I think Jon may be suffering from his 12 year molars coming in, not his wisdom teeth.
Either way, warm salt water rinses 1/2 tsp./8oz of water, as often as you can, will help with drainage. If you see continued swelling, see your dentist. In fact, tell your dentist about this episode in any case next time you go for a checkup.

If you haven't had them grow in yet, I would say that is what is happening. Go to your Dentist, he/she will take an x-ray and you will see where they are. They are probably pushing on your other teeth (that is what happened to me). If they need extracted, your Dentist will send you to an Orthodontist. The procedure is painless because they will knock you out...pretty neat really. They gave me percocets, but I only took one the day the surgery was done...didn't need any more after that. And I had all 4 taken out at once, so it's not as painful as it sounds.
Good luck :-)

Yes, your wisdom teeth can start growing as early as 12 years old. They can be very painful comeing in. If you really cannot take the pain I suggest using Orajel and numb the area.
