348 mod 71 wincesters?
hi have 2 model 71 wincesters short and long barreled versions one might be a rare one as it has silver plate stamp of a bear on butt they are in mint condition lever actions the short barrel one was manufactured in 1956 which is unusal as the 20" barrels were discontinued in 1947. The other longer barrel version is a dulux with straight grain checkered walnut stock with sling swivels and capped pistol grip.wanting a idea on how much they are worth thank you very much

- .348 Win. cal., 2/3 tube mag. holding 4 cartridges, improved Model 1886 frame, blue metal with pistol grip stock, 20 or 24 in. barrel, short or long tang. Mfg. 47,254 between 1935-1957.

It sounds like the short-barreled one has been customized and will have reduced value because of it. They seldom sell for less than a thousand bucks in any case, though. I've seen deluxe models sell for $2500-3500, depending on how much the buyer wants it. The market for these is pretty limited, but those who like them are a loyal bunch. I hunt with one every chance I get.
