It is ironic that everybody complains about Gitmo - but none of those people who are complaining want any of those detainees released in their countries.

Because they might not be British citizens but they are long time British residents.
I find it greatly interesting that a US military tribunal aquitted them, the Pentagon says they're dangerous, and the Conservatives are trying to make political problems because they haven't been told what any of them are actually accused of. The Spaniards suddenly decide to call for extradition when a few months ago they stated they weren't interested and frankly the whole thing is just one big ball of chalk.
That, in essence, means two US agencies can't agree and neither have evidence to convict the men.
The Spaniards can't make their minds up.
The Conservatives have a bit of cheek since they've been opposed to numerous terrorism measures.
One of the men freed, though, has returned direct to Saudi Arabia. There was no requirement for him to come to the UK so he's gone home.

Because we are idiots.
Its like the last one we got released from Guantanamo because his dad in Birmingham kept going on T.V and saying how his son was a lovely boy and was innocently travelling around Afghanistan in the middle of a war sightseeing, and he was falsely accused.
Then our stupid handwringing Labour and Liberal politicians got involved saying that he must be innocent because his dad says so and all americans are evil.
So what happens he comes back here and then once he is safe he admits that he did attend a training camp and learned to fire an AK47 and a rocket Launcher.
What did we do?
Nothing!
We wont do anything until the muppet blows himself and a load of innocents up on a train
and then we will blame the security forces for not stopping him.
We are the stupidist people in the world sometimes.

It has something to do with unfinished business. One of the returning non-British citizen prisoners is going to be extradited to Spain I think, where he will face charges there. One is also going to court here in UK, I think today.

All of the above needs updating.
Basically all three returning prisoners from Guantanamo were here in UK before their arrest.
Look, the business is not over yet. They still present a threat to our security, they ain't walking the streets.

Probably because we are a soft touch and welcome terrorists and fanatics who hate us with open arms.
No doubt Gordon Brown wants to use our taxes to give them all free council houses, lots of benefits and grants to "re-establish themselves in society" (which hardworking, law abiding, taxpaying Brits can't get) . . .
If I had my way they'd be deported to the third world Sharia Law hellhole of their choice and left there to rot.
