I have several.
One gives me a 5% rebate on gas.
One gives me frequent flyer miles.
One gives me rebates from Costco (American Express is the only credit card which they accept and last year we bought a new vacuum cleaner with the rebate) which also gives me discounts on flying, restaurants and auto rental (which also means that we don't need to pay for their daily insurance).
So we have legitimate needs for the cards.

I have 2 credit cards and 2 department card stores. I only have the department store cards because I got a discount and no interest for 90 days. Paid it off before interest even thought a bout hitting the account. I'm working on getting down to just 1 card and paying the balance in full each month. Don't become a credit card slave, get rid of them.

I have 8 and an excellent credit score because I handle them very responsibly.
PS - That wasn't very nice of you to call my previous answer "retarded". Nobody else even bothered to answer your question.
At least I presented a sense of humor and a way for you to get some points back.
