own house and own country sounds like King James to me,

Why is Physician in caps, the carpenter isn't ?

Jesus never said he was the carpenter, the people did, They didn't even have tree's there, they had to get every tree from Lebanon, he was a physician, he talked with the doctors and lawyers at the age of twelve, you think he would waste that knowledge nailing up wood ?

And then who are these 4 carpenters, Not Jesus
Zec 1:20 And the LORD shewed me four carpenters.

Mar 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not Mar 6:4 But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

A physician?

Well, here's one for you.. If god came down to earth as JC why with all his greatness and power why would he want to be a carpenter - illiterate at best? After creating the Universe, all substances within it, all forces of life on this planet from nothing and simultaneously be able to watch everything and know what everyone was thinking?

Having caused volcanoes to destroy, cyclones and tornadoes to devastate, earthquakes, famine, lightning bolts and plagues to wipe out many populations. Then this god decides to be a carpenter? Then when on the cross ask himself why did he forsake himself. Fantastic story don't you think?

I do not know or can even imagine how anyone can actually believe this - let alone talk me into it. Now he is a physican! Well I guess he or it just does it all now doesn't he/it? Where does it all end?

He was a carpenter by trade, I believe, as was Joseph. Boys learned the trade of their fathers. I think you are missing the word "proverb", which means that "physician heal thyself" is an expression, not that Jesus was a physician..

He was the son of a carpenter. Joseph (his father) trained him to be a carpenter. Then, once he grew old enough and started realizing his purpose in life as the Messiah, he then became the great "Physician" because he healed the sick, and resurrected the dead.

The townspeople of Nazareth saw Jesus as a carpenter. That was how they remembered Him, as the son of a carpenter who had [probably] taken up the family trade in His earlier years, before He started His ministry.

That was Jesus' humble beginnings. He had kept a low profile for 30 years.

After Jesus began His ministry, He performed many miracles ...in Galilee, Capernaum, Bethsaida, all the other towns & cities of Israel....His fame began to precede Him....

The people of Nazareth, where He grew up, heard of His miracles...which was why He referred to Himself as a physician, quoting a local proverb. The people of Nazareth saw Jesus only as a carpenter, however, and because of their unbelief, they could not receive great miracles for their lives.

The same principle applies today...HOW do YOU see Jesus? Was He just a man to you or was He also the Son of God, the Saviour of the world?

How YOU see Him will determine your outcome in life.

Edit: responding to tricia R....
Who said Jesus was illiterate? Read Lk 4:18-21...Jesus READ from the Torah in the synagogue.

Please get your facts right next time.

You must have confused it with Muhammad...Muhammad was the illiterate one!

Jesus was neither a carpenter nor a physician.
he was the messiah, God wrapped in flesh.
he was referred to as a physician due to the fact that he healed folks. he was never called a carpenter.
Joseph was a carpenter and young men almost always carried on the family business, but when he told his mother
"know ye not that I must be about my fathers business"
he was speaking of his heavenly father not Joseph.

Son of a carpenter...as well as a carpenter and a fisherman...

Never a physician...what you have quoted is Jesus telling his disciples that the time will come when they will tell him to use his powers and keep himself from being crucified in the form of a parable...and they did indeed do that...

If he was a carpenter (don't know where that was written) he was also a Reiki Master through other training. "Physician heal thyself" tells people that everyone is a "physician" and can heal themselves mentally through meditation and communing with the God and Goddess. They may also heal themselves of minor physical ailments through herbal, holistic remedies, Reiki, and communing with the God and Goddess. If it gets too bad, I will resort to a formal Doctor (M.D.) but I certainly try not to.

He grew up with a father who was a carpenter and that became his trade also. He was called a physician because of all the miracles he did as he traveled with his disciples.

He was a carpenter. Mark 6:3

Jesus is saying that they will call him a physician because he had cured people.

To get a full understanding you need to read Chapter 4:16-30.
