I'm a Christian and I tell others so they can know Jesus Christ the only way into heaven. Don't give me a stupid answer like because it is the truth.

Why do you ask if you do not want to hear the answer? Do you always cover your ears and chant "La! La! La! La!"?

When they ask you why you tell people about Christianity, you will say (like you said) "so they can know Jesus Christ the only way into heaven" but you will also say 'because it's the truth" or maybe you you won't say that but you'll think it, so really, you're switching this back onto you. Good question though.

If you believe invisibly sky deities zapped the universe into existence, and belief in them is the only guaranteed entrance to a fantastical cloud palace "somewhere", go right ahead and believe.

But I inform the uneducated (read: religious) about change over time and survival of the fittest because it IS the truth. Sorry if the truth is "stupid" in your eyes, religion seems to have this intoxicating effect on people.

I can honestly say I've never attempted to teach anyone about Evolution outside of this site or other than in response to a typical question based on a misunderstanding(Ex: Why are there still monkeys?). If you don't understand something, how can you form an opinion either way? I don't wish to convert anyone, I just want them to have their facts straight before jumping to conclusions. The concept of Evolution was not realized by men when the message of God was given. There is futility in explaining mechanisms to those who cannot comprehend them. Why does it have to be one way or another? What is a day to the Eternal being not confined to time, and sequence?

I think I am a very naive person. I had assumed evolution was common knowledge. I not being sarcastic. I really was under the impression that science classes were void of God. My girls go to school and learn about evolution. My 12 year old has informed me of a few facts I wasn't aware of. The information is always being updated and therefore relayed/taught. I didn't think anyone denied it.

I absolutely love the fact that you qualify the truth as a stupid answer. I'm emailing this to some friends right now. Listening to theists is like watching monkeys in the zoo. "Aw, aren't they cute, they try to pretend like they have a mind"

Why do fundamentalists always equate atheism with evolution? Evolution has nothing at all to do with religion (or the lack thereof).

Heaven is mythology - you stand against the truth does not make it anly less true.

Evolution is established science - your belief in mythology does not change the facts.

Well, you tell people so that they have a good fantasy story and we tell people because there is evidence to support evolution, so IT IS THE TRUTH.
