Another I saw was a packet and on the back it said warning, this product has been produced in a factory that uses nuts, what's the worst they could do dribble all over your food?

I like the message on bags of peanuts:-

"Remember small children can choke on nuts"

I still don't know if this is a safety warning for parents or a 'helpful hint' for child haters.

There is a * against loads of the Quality Street's on the back of the box warning they contain nuts..... all except the hazel in caramel. Hmmm I wonder what's really in the caramel if it's not a nut!

Welcome to the world that lawsuits built.

A lot of people are allergic to nuts, peanuts in particular. And a lot of those allergies are strong enough to kill. How much money do you think the snack company would have to pay if someone died from a reaction to their food? It is sooooo much cheaper for them to print that stupd warning on everything and cover their butts legally.

Another one. In the long list of safety warnings for a chainsaw: "Do not attempt to stop chain with your bare hands." Personally, I think anyone dumb enough to try and grab a chainsaw blade is both too stupid to read, and deserves to lose their fingers.

It`s the pc brigade gone mad. With regard to the phrase "produced in a factory that uses nuts" this is to warn that there may be a chance of cross contamination, or it may refer to the workforce.

The Range has a similar warning on the teapots, not sure of the exact wording but "Warning - an overfull teapot can cause scalding" is the gist.
I wish someone had put a similar notice on my oven - perhaps when I accidently knocked my knuckles on a hot shelf last week, I wouldn't have got burned!
Can I sue the cooker company do you think?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Says it all doesn't it. it's as bad as a warning on a cup of tea or coffee that it may be hot.
