No, place the baby up for adoption. Two wrongs don't make a right.

It would depend on the woman. Many probably would abort or give the child up for adoption. I am definitely pro-choice and believe it's the woman's decision, period.
But there might be particularly spiritual women out there who would look at the pregnancy and child as a blessing born out of unimaginable trauma; a gift from the gods who be to make her whole again (spiritually speaking). I wonder if this would be the case for a woman who very desperately wanted a child and had been unable to conceive. If so, the child would have a wonderful life.
However, if the woman could not look upon the child without remembering just the rape and therefore resenting the child, then it's better for the child to be put up for adoption or for the woman to opt for an abortion.

In response to your added comment -- Sorry I'm not a die-hard Christian either. Spiritually minded yes, but Christian no.

Should she or shouldn't she? Well, my stance on abortion is this: it must be left up to the individual woman. There are some who will think "No way will I be reminded of this horrible event ever day of my life." Someone else might say "I've always wanted a child, so I'll keep this child of rape and be reminded that goodness can come from awfulness." However, NO ONE can make the choice for the woman. She MUST make the choice on her own.

Having never been in this situation, I hesitate to answer. I can't imagine the wide spectrum of feelings (most if not all negative) that would surround this.
I have read articles about women who did abort - and they articulated a pretty good argument for it.
I've also seen a woman on Oprah before who kept her baby that was conceived when she was raped - and she also presented a very good argument/reasoning for it. I thought she was amazing - her ability to rise above the horrific incident. I don't know if I'd be able to do the same. And I certainly hope I never have to find out.
Rape is a terrible terrible thing, and my heart goes out to all who have experienced this form of violent attack.

Depends, if the man was a druggy and on alcohol ect, and the child will end up with serious health problems, I think its "humane" to not put the kid through that.
The kid will get half its gene package through this creep.
But, if there are no health issues, then the woman should keep the baby.
Either keeping it herself, and making a good thing out of a bad *the moment won't effect the child* or putting it up for adoption so that someone else, who won't have bad conception memories of this kid, to raise it, and bring it up in a loving way, to MAKE SOMETHING GOOD , OUT OF SOMETHING BAD.

Obviously not. A life is still a life. You don't abort it for no reason just because its a baby of a stupid rapist. You can always nurture the child to be good with proper care and teaching. Besides, if God didn't want the women (victim) to have the baby, He would have got the baby aborted naturally, like die in the women stomach or something..

It is always the individuals choice. Personally i do not believe in abortion but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I feel that it is not the innocent unborn childs fault that they were conceived in such a horrible way and should be given the chance to live a normal life. Perhaps the mother could consider giving her child up for adoption or fostering.

The decision should be completely left to the woman. I know that while I was at the hospital getting the rape kit done I would demand to get the Plan B pill, that way I wouldn't have to worry about getting pregnant.

If a woman conceives from a rape, she should be allowed to choose an abortion if she wishes. She should also be allowed to not choose an abortion.
That's the beauty of being pro-choice. I fully support all women's rights to make their own medical decisions without the government interfering.

It would more than likely screw up the woman since she will see the rapist every time she sees the child. It's up to her to make the decision, it's her right.

personally I wouldn't be able to have the child of them man who raped me inside of me for 9 months, I think I would abort even if I'm pro-life, it would just kill me...I hope I never have to take this decision. Some women might choose to have the kid and give it do adoption...her choice!
