Thank you so much for your kind words. It has been a tough year all right.
My mother (who was my best friend), died on 1st August and Christmas will never be the same without her.
On 13th November, my neighbour set fire to his house killing himself, his partner and their five children.
There won't be much celebrating done this year but at least I have everything I need materially and I have my brothers and sisters nearby. My heart goes out to anyone who is truly alone and I would like to send them good wishes.
I would like to wish you and yours - and everybody on Yahoo Answers - good health, joy and peace.

It's always possible, but I thought Arsenal were a bit unlucky today and should have had a penalty at 1-2 that might have seen them go om and win the game as they were the better team at the time. City looked good for long periods and might just be a serious challenger this season.

My dad died in May this year, he was always the life and soul of Christmas family get togethers. I am the eldest of four "boys" and we are aged between 45 and 50. But no matter what age we are the man we lost is the man we have known all our lives. Mum is bearing up well but Christmas will be different this year, bringing with it a challenge that we have not had to face before.
Thanks for these thoughts and may God give you peace at this time.

Sadly, my mums sister died of breast cancer,
Its like a peice of a jig-saw, you intend to finish Xmas off, but sadly there is something missing..
I used to wait for the card; not 100% understanding the situation, due to her dieing the day I visisted her in Hospital.
But like my mum says; '' It's part of nature, and god shall bless her for being in the right life and the right time ''
Happy christmas, Craig, 14

It changes Christmas, but it also makes the memories of past Christmas's much more important.
I have a small bulliten board that I have attached pictures of all the people who I've loved who have passed away. I keep it with my Christmas decorations and I only bring it out at Christmas. It helps me remember the people who I care about who aren't with us any more.

I appreciate your thoughts.
You know the one thing that my beliefs have helped me with is letting my Dad go. I miss him very much but I always think of the memories that I have. The christmas' we all spent together, the things he would say. I choose not to dwell on his suffering at the last.
I love you Daddy.

This has been a hard year for my aunt. She lost her father (my grandfather) last summer then 3 months later she lost her husband. I miss them both but I worry more about how she is dealing with this first holiday without them.

As an Atheist, having God bless me means nothing. But I appreciate the sentiment.

Thank you
It was my grandad, I think of him every day but Christmas and the kids birthdays make me think of him more. I have songs that remind me of him which i like to play around this time of year even if it does make me cry.
