I have a phat PSP with firmware 3.71. I want to be able to put emulators and ROMs on it. I understand that I have to make a Pandora battery and all that business. I have some questions though.

1- where can i find a complete (noob proof) guide to doing the whole process such as making a pandora battery, what programs i need for the emulators and custom firm wares?

2- If i downgrade and all that business can i still use the new firmwares that come out (I know they are lame but I like the fact that I can now play ps1 games that are in my ps3)

Thanks to anyone who helps, I know all this info is out there but it is all in bits and pieces and often contradicts itself. I understand bricking is a possibility (less so with the pandora battery though) but my warranty is already up so who cares time to get everything I can out of this little beast. PSP Hackers FTW!!

1. go to http://dl.qj.net
and then select hacks and exploits and search for pandora easy installer

qj.net has lots of emulators and CFWs etc

2. If you downgrade you then upgrade to a custom firmware
the leading CFW is made by team M33 and it is currently on 3.71 M33
although 3.80 M33 is now in development

if you downgrade and update to a custom firmware, when a new official firmware is released, it usually take about 3-4 weeks before someone makes a custom firmware out of it... if its worth it. if there are just minor changes, then its not worth it. Right now dark alex is working on a 3.80m33 firmware.
