I think that Mary, Joseph, and Jesus did not have a surname because there were not any of them back in the day.

I don't think people had surnames in those days
Joseph was probably known as Joseph the carpenter
Everyone knew each other so there would be no need for a surname

Surnames as we know them were not used in Israel at the time. A man was known as, say "Joseph ben Daniel" (Joseph son of Daniel.) Several times Jesus is called the Son of David, which might have been rendered Joshua ben David.

There were no surnames then. Jesus would have been referred to as Jesus bar-Joseph, which means "Son of Joseph". That's as close to surnames as they had in that culture.

People often didn't have surnames in those days. Mary of Magdala did because she was a person with money. He would have been "Jesus of Nazareth" if anything. You were associated with the area where you family lived, and you rarely moved around Judea in those days.

The idea of surnames was not around at the time.

If necessary, people would be identified by their place of origin. Hence "Jesus of Nazareth".

"Christ" is not a last name, but a title. He is "Jesus, The Christ".

I don't believe families at the time used surnames. If they did, it was usually Ben (that means son of) and the father's name - so Jesus Ben Joseph.
