Make changes to your w-4 so that more taxes can be taken out on each pay check. You will be bring home less but will owe IRS less.
I personally claim 0 on my w4 and an extra $25.00 taken out of my bi-weekly pay check, I have my husband claim 2 on his W4, we usually get a $2000.00 refund.

What exactly are you trying to do? Arrange your affairs so that you have a lower tax liability or resolve an outstanding liability? Either way you need to consult a tax specialist or financial planner.
I am an enrolled agent, a tax specialist licensed by the US Treasury Department to represent taxpayers (along with attorneys and CPAs.) If you would like some additional information outside this forum, you can send me email through my profile.

Here is the biggest trick to paying less taxes.......
MAKE LESS MONEY.
Seriously, other than giving all of your earnings away to a charity, that is the only way to pay less taxes.
There are worse things in life than paying taxes because you have a good income. I pay more in taxes than some of my clients make in a year. I would rather be in my shoes than theirs.

If you have dependent's-you can claim them through the year and not pay so much taxes-but it will hurt you at the end of the year.

I'm afraid your question is very vague. Without knowing your situation, no one can offer any kind of real advice.
