Go talk with the teachers to see if you can come up with a plan in dealing with the school issue. Don't give her anything while she is acting like this. Check in your area if there is a group that you can go to called "Tough Love", or something similar. You need to set more limits. Can she go back to a parents home if she doesn't abide by your rules? How old is she? Consider speaking with a counselor on how to deal with this and learning to set limits. It could help a lot.

Kate, it sounds like it long over due. You also need to have a talk with her about the rules of the house. The house rule is that if you don't go to school, you can't live here. I don't know her age, but if she is old enough make her do volunteer work or get a part time job. It sounds like she has too much time on her hands and needs to think about how bad others have it.
Good Luck!

yes stand your ground...If you don't she may end up going into deeper trouble.. have a 2nd cousin who just went to prison and she is 15...She didn't want to listen to her Grandparents, and they didn't make her mind and they couldn't control her..So now she is in prison and she regrets everything she did. I feel for you. I don't know you but I am sorry that you have to go through this. I seen what it did to my great aunt and uncle( the g-parents of my 15 yr old 2nd cousin) when they found out she was going to prison it really crushed my family. I wish you the best of luck

It sounds like she needs a lot of structure and a firm discipline plan. Would you be opposed to sending her to a special boarding school/program for kids with "problems"? Trained professionals might be able to give her the kind of help that your king, loving heart can't.

It sounds like maybe she needs to be shown that she is loved. Maybe she needs to see someone that she can talk to and get her anger out.
