Does it really suck getting a buddy pass from Jetblue? What do you have to do when you get the buddy pass do you have to call somewhere?

A buddy pass is good for free travel on any open seat after all the paying customers have boarded. It's Standby, so during the peak travel times (like now, since it's nearly Christmas), it may be difficult to obtain a seat using a buddy pass. Your best bet is to travel on Tuesday or Wednesday on EARLY MORNING flights.

I believe you just have to go to the airport and let them know you want to use a buddy pass, and they'll put you on the standby list and you proceed to security.

I wouldn't recommend trying to check luggage.
