How do you as a voter feel about electing an administration that never served in war? We do a lot of complaining about our leaders in this country but yet we keep electing the same type of people to be our leaders.

Gee, considering how many times Soldiers/ Sailors/ Airmen have gone to war to defend their nations under administrations where none of the POLITICAL leaders have ever served any time in the Military, this is just NORMAL.

And Soldiers have never believed that anybody cared about them except for their immediate families. It is one of the great truths about the Military that nobody in the nation gives a damn about us until there's a war. It was even immortalized in a short poem by Rudyard Kipling:

"It’s Tommy this an’ Tommy that an’ 'Chuck ’im out, the brute,'
But it’s 'Savior of ’is country,' when the guns begin to shoot."

So this ain't but a thing, buddy. Business as usual.

You raise your right hand and swear to "Defend the constitution of the united states against all enemies, foreign and domestic", and to obey the orders of the officers appointed over you. Nowhere in that does the word "feelings" appear. I served under Ford, Carter, Regan, Bush, and Clinton. At no time during my 20 years of service did whether or not the commander-in-chief had served in the military matter one iota. You don't fight for the "Administration", you fight for yourself and your brothers-in-arms first and formost, and for your country. This is a concept you do not, nor will ever, grasp.

I have to agree that it does suck. Personally I don't believe anyone in this country should be able to be President without having served at least 2 years active duty (Ar, Na, AF or Marines), preferrably 4 years.

BUT just because they didn't serve doesn't mean they don't care. I wish more Americans would see their way to believing we are helping the Iraqi people and making a difference. If you haven't been there, then shut up. You'd have to be an idiot to believe what you see/hear on the news... or a Liberal... oops, same difference, lol!

There are people out there that honestly believe the US coalition has killed more civilian Iraqi's than Al-Qaeda has.

I'd rather serve under a Commander in Chief who did not serve compared to a Commander in chief that dodged the draft, then downsizes the military and refuses to give them a raise.
Bush has brought our Military back. The previous President only authorized 1 raise in 8 years, would you as a civilian deal with that? Why should our fighting men and women?

Presidents Jackson, Grant, Truman and Bush One are only
ones I can think of that had combat experience, Nixon
and Johnson were in the Navy during the Big One,
General Eisenhower had no combat experience.

the Military calls our President "commander in chief" and the military takes an oath to obey all orders from their Commander in Chief, and to defend our country against all enemies foreign or Domestic. Bill Clinton had no military service as well as Franklin Roosevelt, Herbert Hoover, Calvin Coolidge, Warren Harding, Woodrow Wilson, William Taft, Grover Cleavland, martin Van Buren, John Adams, and John Quincy Adams...They have plenty of Military Advisors to assist them.. I was just wondering if Obama, or Hillary ever went to boot camp

Are you speaking about Bill Clinton running off to England, or George Bush who served in the national guard. Last time I checked, the national guard was a branch of the military.

obviously you don't know the military very well, they fight for everyone NOT just former military members, and the president does care about the troops that is why he wants them to be well funded and have everything they need, in the last 4 years my husband has been in the service the president has visited our base every year to thank them for their service, i don't agree with everything the president has done but i have seen first hand that he DOES care about our military, don't judge through your hatred

We feel about the same as we always do about most of our leaders who send us to do our jobs even if they never had to do them. We don't care. Honestly I think that the President and Vice President are more worried about the overall big picture and worry about what is best for the masses rather than what's best for me, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I worry about my soldier's needs before my own and I expect the same out of our leaders in that they are going to keep us in Iraq and let us continue doing all the good we are doing rather than give in to small minded libs who can't see past their own nose.
