We are having a small wedding next October with just close friends and family (about 50). My brother and I are very close, my FH has also become very close to him. I am having my SIL be my MOH and my FH wants my brother to be his BM. I really want my brother to walk me down the isle tho because my dad passed away 3 yrs ago. Do you think that it would be too wierd if he were to walk me down the isle then stand next to my FH to be his best man? or would this be acceptable?

No, that wouldn't be weird. I think it would be totally fine. Sounds like you have a great brother.

Completely acceptable. SInce you appear very close, your brother is the perfect person to walk you down the aisle. If your FH also wants him as his best man, that is great too. He can stand with you until he says he gives you to this man.... then take his place beside your FH. I think the statement is that much stronger. He's giving you to a man great enough to be his close(est) friend. I think that's very nice.

It's perfectly acceptable and very nice actually. My brother kind of did this only he did triple duty. He first walked my mom into the church. Then he came back for me and my dad. My dad is very disabled and in a wheelchair so he wheeled my dad down the aisle with me. Then after he got my dad in place next to my mom, he took his place with the groomsmen. He was at the end of the line to make it easier on him (but he was 1 of 3 so it really didn't matter too much)

I think that would be fine. It doesn't seem to me like it would disrupt the flow of the wedding or anything. Besides, it's your wedding do what makes you and your FH happy! Good Luck and Happy planning! 80)

What a sweet idea. Just have him walk right over and stand by your FH after he 'gives you away'.

Very much acceptable! It's you'r day and you can have who ever you want to walk you down the isle. He can walk you and then swing right over to being the best man.

Hi Kit:

NO, it most certainly is "not weird." And, as a matter of fact, is very nice.

I was at a wedding where the father of the bride (who is a minister) walked his daughter down the aisle and then did the service. It was nice as, of course, he was the ONLY minister that she has had.

It is nice that your brother and future husband are close. Your idea to have him walk you down the aisle and then stand next to your fiance as his best man is perfectly acceptable!

Good luck and I hope you have a beautiful wedding and a happy marriage!

It's your wedding and you can do anything you want. I see no problem with your brother serving in both capacities.
