I don't do that but i think you should really have a long talk to her, Not just a simple short chat, it won't work.
By what you have described here i think you should ask her if she has had any past experiences with guys that arnt to good.
Maybe she is pushing away because it reminds her of something bad that happened in the past.
What ever reason she gives you remember to be there for her, its such a great feeling knowing someone accepts you for who you are and what has happened and also being supportive and on top of this you are her boyfriend! Which makes all of this even better!
Good luck!

Do you mean emotionally close, or physically close?
Either way, maybe she's just not ready for that level of intimacy, or she thought she could handle it but got overwhelmed when she actually faced it.
Either way, you need to slow down and respect her need for space. Try taking baby steps over a long period of time, instead of rushing straight to intimacy. Give her the space to feel comfortable, and assure her that you like her no matter what. Encourage her to make the first move (and second and third moves...) and move closer when SHE is ready.
When a woman feels comfortable and secure and in control, she is much more willing to be intimate, both emotionally and physically.

lol you know what this is an awsome question! my bf tells me that i push him away all the time and you know what i dont know why! i mean i love him and everything but he says that every time we are about to kiss i push him away. i dont even notice it! he told me about it and i said that id try not to no more but i think that i still do unconsciously. its strange. i think i might know why though. i think that its beacuse every time that he is about to kiss me in public (like school for instance) im so worried that one of the teachers will see and call up my parents (our school is small and strict). or maybe sometiems girls just dont feel compfortable kissing in public idk. try kissing her or whatever when you two are alone. that way she doesnt feel like shes being watched or somthing. i hope that i helped!

Girls (in general) don't do that...your girlfriend does. If you want to know why she does it, you need to talk to her. The girls who behave that way will likely have different reasons for doing so.
Perhaps she's got relationship phobias...or is playing hard to get and is really bad at it...

Pushes you physically, emotionally, or what? Maybe she isn't a real girlfriend and you should find a girl who is more compatible with you.

I think you're pushing her into something she's not ready for. You need to wait for her. She has boundries that you need to respect. It has nothing to do with her "not liking, wanting" you, she just... needs time to catch up. Wait for her, and you'll be so much more gratified than if you push and push and push.
cheers
