The small things add up to mean a lot to them, Like running out and buying them new underwear when you see holes in all his, or waking up in the middle of the night to throw his washed clothes in the dryer so he has clean work clothes in the morning. Renting a movie he has been raving about seeing lately. Buying his favorite chips to accompany the movie. Buy him a cool shirt for his staff christmas party. Send a care package to his work to let him know how much he means to you with all his little favorite things. Buy him a gift to wear on your wedding like a personalized tie clip or something. Hope those are good, all things that my fiance has told me he LOVED!!!

Honestly, I would write him a really nice letter. You can usually write alot better than you can speak because you can take your time and get your wording exactly right and also because its easier to write certain things down rather than to say them. A letter is something he will keep for an eternity, my dad still has all my moms letters from when they were separated while he was in the service, and they are the absolute sweetest things I have ever read (and I only read them once, my sisters and I stumbled upon them one day while cleaning out tha attic when I was about 15). A letter will say so much more than anything you could do for him.

My husband and I leave pieces of paper around the house with SHMILY written on them. It stands for See How Much I Love You. Every time I find one, I get a warm feeling inside and feel special that he took the time to write the pieces of paper and put them some place. There are still some around that he hasn't found yet and I'm sure there are some I haven't found too. You might try something like that.

I didn't read part 1, but why not get him an engagement gift- something that he will have forever, like a watch or cufflinks? That way, he has something to mark the occasion and maybe one day pass to your children.
When we got engaged, I bought my husband a St. Christopher medal, and he hasn't taken it off since the day I gave it to him. It made him feel very special to know that I didn't think it was "all about me."

Write him a special letter telling him all your feelings for him and about your coming marriage. Seal it up in a fancy envelope and tell him you will read it to him on your first anniversary. PS keep a copy for yourself so you can read it to yourself after your first fight which I guarantee will come before your first anniversary. It will help you keep in mind that you are both human, you will make mistakes and it takes work to keep a marriage alive and well.
