serving in the Middle East a very Happy Christmas?

And hoping they are soon home to be with their families.

My dad (ex squaddie on active service) said that the army usually served up a decent Christmas Dinner, although in all other days Christmas was just like any other day. . .

As l sit in my tent in Iraq at this very moment, l want to thank each and everyone of you for your kind words. I think l can speak for all of my fellow brothers and sisters-in-arms here and around the world when l say "your welcome". We do what we do (some for a 4 year commitment, others for a career) because we love what we are doing!! We are committed to preserve all of the freedoms we all hold near and dear to our heart! I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Healthy New Year!
I leave you all with this:
Remember, it was not the politician that gave you the right to free speech, it was the soldier, sailor, airman, marine, and coastguardsman. Please remember them all in your prayer at the dinner table on Christmas day!!

As an ex Forces family (RAF) whose Husband was in the Falkland War, my thoughts at this time go to the Families of all those serving their Country (whichever that is). May THEY all have a Happy Christmas and my New Year wish for them all is that the Empty place at their table will soon be occupied by their loved one again!
It goes without saying (though I will anyway) That I wish all the guys and girls out there in Iraq and Afghanistan a Very Happy Christmas and a Safe New Year!

It does not matter which nationality you are any loss of life because of war is sad but if a good outcome is to be achieved I am not sure that it is a complete waste of life. Many men in the past have given their lives so that their countrymen can lead a better life. The Iraq question, however, is different for me, I do not think we should have gone in there in the first place but with Afghanistan foreign forces will be on their territory for a long time in the hope of achieving a better life for the Afghani people. This is a very potted contribution - a question such as you have asked really requires a much more complicated answer.

Yes of course I'll join you. We may not support our governments in sanctioning these wars but seeing they have we can only support our military. Let's hope they'll all be safe at home soon reunited with their families, and also that the communities and families in the war-torn countries in which they have been serving will also soon have the opportunities to get their lives back on track.

I guess only the republicans can do this as the dem party seems to want us to wish them a Happy Hillidays (Holidays) instead of Christmas.

But Yes I wish them ALL a very Merry CHRISTMAS and hope they return home to their families safe.

Yes, indeed! Merry Christmas, and thank you for you service to our country! Hoo-ah!
They do get an extra special meal - turkey, ham, the works. But, they also have regular duties that don't go away just because it's Christmas.
