So i'd like to know who is the first to kiss brickyard at indianapolis and start this tradition. I found it very hard to found answer from internet.

In 1996, Dale Jarrett and his Robert Yates Racing crew began the tradition of the winning driver and crew kissing the bricks at the start-finish line, which has carried over to the Indianapolis 500.

Dale Jarrett started the tradition in NASCAR at the Brickyard. It helped give NASCAR an identity at Indianapolis separate from the Indy 500 and the drink of milk.

Jeff Gordon won the inaugural NASCAR Race at the Brickyard; but it was Dale Jarret who began the tradition of kissing the brinks.

Robert Yates Racing had a young driver called Dale Jarrett (tells you how long it was) and that was where the tradition started in nascar...

Dale Jarrett, that was back when Yates racing still new how to win. Dale Jarrett and Todd Parrot had great chemistry together, they dominated for a few years there. I'm not sure why it didn't last? go figure?
