When people say that they're simply observing that the percentage of fair-skinned people will go down.
When people are concerned it isn't about what color people are. Its about the fact that America has had a large percentage of people of white European ancestry and culture, and it was the philosophies of the those founding fathers that built the country into what it is.
The only concern many people have isn't about how many people in the country have darker coloring. Its about whether the number of immigrants (particularly illegal ones) who come from countries that are not like America will try to turn America into a country like their own, rather than embrace the American values that have made the country what it is.
Many immigrants want to come to America and preserve their culture, rather than "be Americans". If the numbers of people who come to the country with the idea of bringing their culture to it continue to rise at present rates, and if these people outnumber American-born citizens (of any coloring), the whole culture will shift - and that's what people who are concerned are concerned about.
The culture that has existed in the US has served the country and its people well. Its why so many people want to come to this country. The only concern people have (in most cases) is that they want the culture to remain as it has (when it comes to values, desire to get a good education, the wish to participate in American society, a wish to make a contribution to the country, and whatever other values there are that have built the country into one that many people want to call home).
Regardless of the coloring of the immigrants, many Americans do want America being "turned into another country". The country is made up of immigrants, and most Americans understand that. The concern is that past immigrants wanted very much to "become Americans" and embrace the American culture. Today many immigrants wants to live in America but bring their own culture to it, rather than "become Americans". That's generally people's concern.

I don't think that the "look" people are referring to is physical. I believe they are talking about the profile of the "average" person. Education & moral fibre do play a part in this profile. I think a large part is wanting people to adapt to what we consider as normal rather than us adaptng to what they consider normal. All Americans immigrated at some point and became part of the "Great American Melting Pot" that we pride ourselves on. Each culture added part of itself but became "American". Now we have hyphenated Americans who were born here. I'm not against retaining a sense of where we came from (my roots are from Ireland in the 1700's) but we need to get back to beig Americans. Ten to 15 years ago no one would have even thought about multi-lingual signs and documents as an accomidation to those that don't speak English. It was a given that all new immigrants would learn the language.
Again I think we need to all get back to being Americans.

I have never seen questions like this, perhaps you are focussing on your own view and try to project onto others. Perhaps they word it differently, and when you change the wording you change the essence of the meaning. I have seen alot of questions and answers on change of culture. That is a concern, because Mexican culture does not belong in the US. We evolve our own due to our unique environment. I take the UN statement as true, that when some one visits a new country they must abide by the host nation's culture and not force their culture onto others. It's not a statement of one culture being superior to another, but rather that culture is a standard for people to get along with each other, and we can't have more than one set of rules where we expect the people to abide by. I think it's equally wrong for an AMerican to force our culture in Mexico.

No but the US might lose her sovereignty and become a third world country. Because of the illegals and the wrong kind world trade the middle class in America is eroding away each day. Soon there will only be the very rich and the very poor.

It's not about the color of American it's about the who has the right to be here and the cost of illegal immigration. Those such as yourself that want to make is about the color of ones skin rather then about the law and who sets our immigration policy the American people or the illegals are using color as a way to get around, " What Part of Illegal Do you not understand"
PS> There is nothing wrong with being fair skinned and blued eyed as well as being darker skinned with brown eyes

As for the look of Americans.... we all look different. I don't think that everyone needs to be light skinned with blond hair and blue eyes, however, I don't want us all to look the same either. Being individuals is what makes us so great. It wouldn't be bad if more people had dark features, but I think that it would be a loss to not have some people that do have blue eyes or light hair. I personally am proud of my blue eyes.

I know this might be a difficult concept, but when they refer to the "look" of America, they aren't referring to the physical appearance of the average American, but of the makeup of the country at large -- language, culture, education level, attitude, etc. When you say "American" there is a certain understanding of what that means...and most don't want that to change. We like our "melting pot" and don't want to change it into a bunch of segregated peoples with their OWN culture and their OWN languages and their OWN political structures. We don't want our country fractured in that way.

i don't think his tale. i think of that those lies set a development, and we've not any theory why he's in this us of a, yet we do comprehend he's gathering welfare. And the story he advised is misguided: he's very, precisely, opposition for jobs the human beings that drop out of highschool ought to ought to stay and that's very undesirable in the African American community. And the story the female advised? i don't think that the two. The unlawful extraterrestrial beings stay jointly and in the Hispanic community. they don't stay in the extreme tone places in Beverly Hills. They stay under the bridge, or in an house in a community of unlawful extraterrestrial beings. greater, the sole people who could meet her may be the Mexican human beings and that's genuine to assert they don't want her right here, yet racism is merely yet another in an rather, very long string of lies in this difficulty.

Americans are concerned about their looks,we spend millions of dollars to look like beauty queens,it has nothing to do with illegals,or as you put it immigration.I have blonde hair and blue eyes and always envied the natural tan look,do you know people kill themselves with sun and tanning beds trying to get brown?Americans are concerned about the way our country looks as well, when 30% of illegals are in our prisons,it is disturbing.I really have a hard time supporting ingreats as well ,I work hard to support my friends and family while our government thinks its more important to spend my taxes on illegals that burn my flag.ALL I ask is a little respect, instead of demands those people dont earn?I dont believe I owe them anything.

Looks are constantly changing in America whether it is from hair styles to fashion. I do not care what "color" America is so long as they are Americans and act with-in the law.
