I started putting Selsun Blue on my body for a few days to treat my tinea versicolor. It seems like just on the areas I applied, the skin is spotty and red, and i feel this prickly itching/burning sensation. I washed it off completely. Will it go away on it's own?
Why is this happening if my skin is not normally sensitive?

You're probably allergic to it.....you should consult your primary physician.......

sounds like an allergic reaction... call your doc, local clinic, or emergency room. (youre having some trouble breathing - call now)

While an allergic reaction will normally 'go away' once the irritant is removed, a lot of the 'danger' is in how severe the reaction can be. Had you mentioned only the skin sensation, I would have recommended simply using some Benadryl. (We keep a small bottle of the gel type on hand in our first aid kit)

Again... because you mentioned some difficulty breathing... you should call for local help... it probably will not get any worse, since youve used the product for a few days before noticing any signs...but it is better to be safe.

These are symptoms of a serious allergic reaction. Breathing difficulty is a dangerous reaction. Get to the doctor. Don't ever use this product again because the next time it could cause a much worse reaction.

Don't take any chances. Go to the ER. There is an ingredient in it that you are extremely allergic to.
