The "commercialization" of Christmas is quite a boon for the marketing & sales Industry.

It's only expensive because people don't remember the true meaning of the celebration. I buy gifts for my family, but I've made certain that they know the reason for Christmas is the birth of Christ.
For several generations Americans have been stupid consumers. I mean really stupid. We're driven by commercials and greed to buy things we don't need. Not only are we dissatisfied with our purchases, but we're driven deeper into debt.
In my parent's generation they advised each other, "Use it up. Wear it out. Make it do, or do without."
Also, "If it's not broke, don't fix it." Or, replace it, as the case may be.
I believe God's will for us is to find the beauty in the commonplace, to be thankful for the blessings we have, to use what He has given us responsibly.
The peace and beauty of Christmas will never be purchased, it can only be found in the heart.

Well its a man created pagan holiday. The term "holiday" came from the term "holy day" and man has had its way with it ever since. Something that is wrong from its roots will only grow in corruption. Besides.... Christmas is like one of the best marketing schemes ever lol, its not about Christ at all. Santa Claus gets more press then Christ at this time of year.

Why do so many professing Christians, seeking to follow the One who said "I am the light of the world" and "He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness" (John 8:12), perpetuate such strange customs whose origins come not from the Bible but from the dark, dim mists of antiquity?

1. Christmas is driven by commercialism.

2. Christmas is nowhere mentioned in the Bible.

3. Jesus wasn't born on or near Dec. 25.

4. The Christmas holiday is largely a recycled pagan celebration.

5. God condemns using pagan customs to worship Him.

6. Christmas is worshipping God in vain.

7. You can't put Christ back into something He was never in.

8. The Bible nowhere tells us to observe a holiday celebrating Jesus Christ's birth—but it clearly does tell us to commemorate His death.

9. Christmas obscures God's plan for mankind.

10. I'd rather celebrate the Holy Days Jesus Christ and the apostles observed.

God in His Word sets out many choices for us. Will we do things His way or our own? Will we worship Him as He tells us to, or expect Him to honor whatever religious practices we choose regardless of what His Word says?

Real Christmas means simplicity. Remember the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was born in the manger not on a luxurious hotel. It denotes simplicity.

True Christmas is not the date, it is the one who is born not the date of His birth. Besides, there is no actual date that is recorded in the Bible of what is the exact birth date of the Lord Jesus Christ. Also, man has no the capacity of knowing the exact birth date of Christ because He comes from eternity.

Micah 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

Not even Christmas, all festivals are invented for market. It is to squeeze the pockets of poor mass ant accumulate it into the multimillionaires pocket. Why don't you think that why Christ become poor. If he was the son of god ,he was never supposed to be poor, because god is the sole authority of all wealth. So it is a dilemma!

While I don't think it was every supposed to get this out of control, the idea as I see it is that this is why we give gifts instead of buy things for ourselves. Think of ourselves like the wise men more then like Christ. Giving gifts to the ones with love show them honor and respect for their place in our lives. Now that has gotten out of control with issues such as inflation and materialism, but it is that feeling of joy when we give something to some one that puts a smile on their face that reminds of the good nature of Christmas and what it signifies for the world.

(Take into account gift trees and the amount of donations that occur in the form of gifts at churches, further trying to spread this message of giving to others.)

Because man got involved, once again, and made it that way. Jesus has nothing to do with what people decide to pull out of their wallets and purses.

If you ask me, gifts should be given at ANY time of the year, not just on Christmas. The Bible says it is better to give than receive. Jesus gave His life to die for us, not for us to go broke. That applies to any day of the year.

God bless.
God bless.
