The Solstice is this weekend. How do you celebrate? Do you have any special foods, crafts, rituals? What special meaning does this holy day have for you?

Thanks in advance and a very blessed Solstice to you all!

At the top of my dark volcanic sacred mountain in the Highlands of Scotland I shall welcome back the sun by kindeling a fire apon its summit.
Removing my dark cloak I remove the dark blanket that is apon me and decend the mountain with nothing but my kilt in the early morning. The cold and the dark shall not harm me for i know they are waning.
I know that it shall be a prosperous new year when I am guided back under moonlight.

Blessings

Blessed Solstice to you

I don't have any special foods. I believe that I will just know what to have for that ritual. I usually just let happen what does. I figure that is how it's meant to be. I use to get everything set up and something would always change it. So now I just go with the flow.

We will be celebrating the solstice with our kin and kith. We will start with Mother's Night, then the second day will be our grand Samal and Husel. Plenty of good cheer, wassail and mead for all!

Otherwise, in that 'christmas' is a Yule rip-off, the only thing Christian about this time of year is the innane insistance that this is actually Jesus' birthday. Really .. some folk need to crack a history book!

This is my first time celebrating the winter solstice. Im going to perform a ritual and hopefully have a happy day. My family and friends are coming over so it will be, no doubt. I hope you all have happy holidays!

I will be dressing my altar in pines and candles. The Sabbat biscuits are made. The chocolate Yule log ready and waiting. At some point during the day I will try to get out walking and I have a lovely ritual by Scott Cunningham that I will do at dusk. I'm looking forward to Yule and wish all those who celebrate it, a very blessed one.

A Yule log that will burn all night with a blot to honor Frigga and my female ancestors (It's Mother's Night). We'll have friends and family over for food and friendship. We'll exchange our few gifts that night. I'll greet the morning sun (after staying up all night with the log).

For the next 11 nights we'll do small blots until New Year's Eve when some of us stay up all night again to greet the sun, offer food and drink and burn the Yule wreath.

I have Mothers Night on Friday where I'll honor Frigga (I owe her big time lately LOL) and my disir (mother ancestors). That will be just me and the kids. Then Sat night I am having a huge party with a Freyrblot before I head home to Memphis where I'm sure my sister's family and mine will do a Thorsblot as well as a few others through the 12 nights.
Happy Yule my friend!
Hail the Gods!

Blessed Solstice! I decorate with greens and candles, my alter also has greens and candles along with incense for the season. I do a lot of baking for the season, and celebrate with the family.
