neither one is "good" for you. wheat bread is just as processed as white and only contains slightly more nutrients. healthy carbs are all natural AND consumed in their natural state. if you were to eat whole wheat kernels that would be healthy, whole wheat bread is not healthy.

Carbs In Wheat Bread

Whole Wheat bread had not been processed and has more nutrients then White Bread. One difference in nutrients between the two breads are how much fiber does it have. Whole wheat bread has more fiber. Since they are both Carbs, they are both turned into sugars so the body can use them as energy. Whole wheat bread as mentioned earlier has more fiber than white bread. FIber is an indigestible substance meaning that it passes right through your intestines without breaking down. In general, you should avoid carbs that are quickly broken down into glucose like white bread. These carbs cause a spike or a rapid increase, in blood sugar, which can eventuall leat to weight gain, diabetes, and heart disease. Potatoes and white rice contain lots of starches and little fiber so they cause these spikes too. Whole grains and fruit have a lot of sugar but they also have lots of fiber so they don't cause these big spikes in blood sugar. Since fiber doesn't digest, it slows the breakdown of other carbs preventing spikes. The reason why you should eat natural whole grains is because they digest really slowly. The more processed a carb is, the lest fibers it has and the worse it is for u. hope this helps!

Carbs in general aren't bad for you. It's the refined carbs (white breads and pastas) that are bad, because they're more easily stored as fat than complex carbs. Complex carbs, while having the same grams of carbs as refined carbs, take longer to burn. They don't cause a spike in blood sugar which releases insulin and encourages your body to store the carbs as fat. They're much better for you also because they still retain the vital vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients that are now thought to help prevent cancer and heart disease. Don't be afraid of carbs, just be afraid of bad carbs.

Whole wheat bread and brown rice contain more nutrients because they haven't been processed. The have more vitamins, minerals and fiber than white bread and rice. Low carb diets work because they cut calories. A better approach is to get rid of bad carbs - sugar, white bread and saturated fats. These kinds of calories have been shown to be unhealthy and eliminating them from your diet will help not only with your diet but also your overall health.

Wheat bread is better for you but if you are someone who doesn't care for wheat bread then you can try a 40 calorie white bread. It is only 40 calories and it taste the same as white bread. My doctor told me about this bread. It has less calories than both wheat bread and regular white bread. They sell it at walmart, you should try it.
