Very good question! But your answer can be found in a book Kuzari and many other philosophical works. It basically says that the bible was written right after the Jewish people left Egypt and right after they saw miracles. Now if someone wrote a book and told you that you just saw the sea split last year would you believe them had it not happened? In fact we know that the hebrews all accepted the bible and amazingly no other version was written they all accepted one version. As I said before they wouldnt believe in something that told them they saw the sea split they saw darkness etc. last year, if it hadnt really happened. Not to knock other religions but christianity and islam claim that their muhammad and christ saw the works of god but in the jewish bible it says that the entire nation stood on mount sinai and heard god speak. Now people can believe a claim made by a prophet even if it is false. But they will not believe something that a book says they saw if they hadnt seen it. And they certainly wouldnt pass it on to their children if it didnt happen. Other proofs are: Circumsition. Just think about it, only recently have scientists seen the benefits of circumsition in that it can reduce the chance of spreading disease by 50%. Now you are telling me it is a coinsidence that the jews have been cuttin a part of their penis for the last 3600 years and by chance now they see the benefits of it? There is another very interesting proof. It says in the bible that the world was created when all the lands came together and all the waters came together. Now till about not long ago scientists used this as a proof that the bible must be false. Because they asked islands are surrounded by water so how can it be that it says in the bible that all the land came together. This was disproved by the idea of a giant continent (you can search it on google) which says that originally all the lands were connected. In fact if you look at a map you can see that you can piece them together like a puzzle. How did they know that over 3300 years ago/???? Justr one last proof. It says in bible that for an animal to be kosher it needs to have split hooves and chew its cud. Then it says that only three animals that have one and not the other and it names the three in the bible. Let me ask you in the past 3300 years how many new species have been discovered? How many species with strange ways of eatin and reproduction and homeostasis? It is in the millions!!! Yet they havent found another animal other than the three mentioned in the bible that has one of the qualifications of being kosher and not the other. Coincidence??? Now lets talk about some of the empires you mentioned. Their works include stories about the odyssey. How many versions of the odyssey are there??? Of the jewish bible there is one! Now lets imagine that the bible is not divine and tht it was written by a person just like other books. Now why would the bible say so much bad things about the Jewish people if they wrote it themselves? The same is true of the proverbs. It is full of bad naming the jewish people for the things they did. If they had just written it for ulterior motives they would certainly not write something bad about themselves. None of the empires you mentioned ever did this! their books are full of praises about themselves. And one last point Are any of them around now? The Hebrews are the most ancient nation around and they have done it mostly without having a country, while the most powerful countries have all perished. I just want to conclude by sayin that nothing can be proven fully. Can you prove right now that you werent born 5 minutes ago and programed to think as if you are the age that you are. Maybe all of us were programmed that way. However, nothing we do in real life is based on being sure of it 100%. When they are standing at the altar to get married, no one is sure if they are 100% marrying the right person, but they do it because they have investigated the matter and decided that chances are that we are right for eachother. The same is true of the bible. I am specifically talking about the old testament. You can not prove it 100% but by investigating it and seeing proof, you can come to the conclusion that chances are there is truth in it. After all could all the proofs I mentioned (and these were only the tip of the iceberg there is much more) be a coincidence? So just as you dont put away the idea of marriage because you are not sure who to marry, dont put away the idea of the bible not being true when you have not investigated it. After all when you really think about it, what do u lose fro believing? Hop this helped.

Pick your religion

For the purposes of this answer ‘Faiths’ are included in religions because the semantic word play will not be acknowledged.

Most religions claim they their book is divinely inspired.
Some actually claim it to be written by their god.
Most religions claim to be the true religion.
Most religions say that they have proof of their religion being the true one yet all the arguments are circular therefore invalid.
Because of this, all religions say it is about ‘Faith’ and following your heart.

So, because the above is true then all religions are equally valid.

Most religions claim to be the way of love and peace.
Most religions have killed to convert.
All religions are different but claim to have commonalities.

Therefore it follows that they must all be dilutions.

I believe all cultures believed in the Creator at one time. You can find one single authority in every religion that is above all the rest, though they would not have the name of our Lord. Over time, cultures served the creation instead of the Creator. Israel, beloved of God, strayed for a long time, but never denied that the Creator exists and that He loves them.

Actually, the belief is this seperation of gods was really just to the same single deity. The reason Judaism is so important is because it was through Abraham that God first directly made contact.

The Quran:

'Mankind was one single nation, and Allah sent Messengers with glad tidings and warnings; and with them He sent the Book in truth, to judge between people in matters wherein they differed;

but the People of the Book, after the clear Signs came to them, did not differ among themselves, except through selfish contumacy.

Allah by His Grace Guided the believers to the Truth, concerning that wherein they differed. For Allah guided whom He will to a path that is straight.

I think all religions have the same basis, but that each country/ region/ ethnicity has changed things to meet their "needs." I mean, every religion has similarities...

Why are you so bigoted as not to say the opposite : that none of them made up their gods, including the Israelites. Do I smell an anti-semite ?

Big difference: revelation. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob revealed Himself. Big difference between Greeks, Egyptians, Persians, etc. and their "gods". They were forever seeking after their "gods". In the case of the God of the Hebrews, God sought out His people. HUGE difference!
