Christ is from the Greek, Cristos. It does mean the anointed one. Greek was the first language the Bible was translated into, from the local dialects.
Names during the time of Jesus were such as ''ben or bar'' son of and the father's name, or ''bat'' daughter of, and the father's name.

Neither Mary nor Joseph's last name was Christ. Christ is basically a title, another word for messiah.

No. They were of the tribe David was, Judah. So their last name if any would have been "ben Judah" or son of Judah.
Those descended from Levites would be ben Levi, etc. My maiden name Benefield means son of the sod (ben sodah).
Christ is Greek for the Hebrew word Messiah. Luke 1:41. Both mean anointed. Jesus did not become the Christ until his baptism in 29 AD.
That was part of the 483 years (weeks of years etc) in Daniel. So faithful Jews of the day were expecting him then.

No, they didn't really have last names like we do. In his time, Jesus was probably known as Jesus bar Joseph, meaning Jesus son of Joseph. They would also be known for whatever of the 12 tribes they belonged to or the "house" they were from. Jesus was from the house of David.
Really, the title Jesus Christ is like saying Jesus the Christ. Christ is a title meaning Messiah.
Thanks for your question.

No. Actually family names are a reletively new thing - only coming about in western culture within the last century or so.
Christ (which should actually by pronounced more like krisst, not k-rye-st), just means something along the lines of "the annointed one".
Interestingly, Yeshua of Nazareth wasn't the only guy to be called Christ in history. Not a lot of people know that.

No sir.
Christ means basically---the Annointed One, or the Annointing
Christ wasn't Jesus's Last Name or Joseph or Mary.
The Bible Says: we can do All Things Through "Christ" (the Annointing)---See?

hahahahaha
you're dumb
people didn't have 'surnames' back then in the same way as we do.
they would have had patronyms or would have been named after the place where they came from
hence Yeshua can be called
Yeshua ben Yosef (Joshua son of Joseph)
or
Yeshua Nazarene (Joshua of Nazareth)
The Christ means that he is the messiah, it's from the greek, which is also where the name 'Jesus' comes from, the greek version of the hebrew name Yeshua is Iesus.

No. Christ means christened or annointed one. Last names were not generally bestowed until the 15 hundreds.

Most people at those times didn't have last names, but were rather distinguished by associations. In other words, Jesus of Nazareth (associated with where he lives) or Jesus the carpenter's son (associated with his father).
