I've been a Christian for as long as I can remember. However, since entering college, I have struggled with my beliefs. I've never stopped believing God and Christ exists however.

Yesterday, I was studying for my American Politics final. I accidentally fell asleep. Before I knew it, the final was only 40 minutes away. Usually, I sleep longer than that; I could've easily overslept. But I think something woke me up in the nick of time. If I had not woken up, I would've never forgiven myself.

I prayed to him before my final exam for the first time in a long time. I said, "Please forgive my sins. Bring out the knowledge in me for this test. I know I don't deserve to ask you for this. In turn, help me come more into your grace, learn more about you and serve you better."

It seems to have worked. I think I did well on my exam. Thoughts?

I asked him to bring out the knowledge in me. Not make him help me and thus, my studying done for nothing.

We take for granted that small blessings are hard to come by...I believe, in your honesty that you did receive a blessing and that God rewards the faithful...Don't let cynics and non-believers sway your beliefs..Praise God for all things...Big or small... Merry Christmas and God Bless !

Those that think they can awake their eyelids without the hand of God commit a grave error and are self-consumed. The Lord did lead you through that exam to success. He has never stopped loving you. But honestly, He is more concerned that you pass the last and final test, Judgement Day. It's not a one-time study, but every moment of every day. He, again, will guide you through successful. But "you" have to be willing to jump back in the spiritual race which involves much more than a prayer or two. A person is not ready to live until they are willing to die. I pray you finish life well! Merry Christmas.

God, as you know, does answer prayers. He loves to show you things. Things that will help you or things that you never thought he could or would do. I do believe that he did wake you up. I don't believe in quiesdcences. I do believe in Godecadences. lol
This is what you would call a testimony! When your finale comes out and you passed with flying colors, brag about how great your god is. Don't loose faith in him. Remember to pray about everything that you do. It's hard these days. He will stick with you over the end of time.

These things too shall pass.

At your age, we often put God on the back burner, but He never puts us on the back burner. He will never leave us or forsake us, but we sometimes leave Him either temporarily, or permanently. Pray that you will never leave Him again.
Pray for His strength in you, and always seek His peace.

When I read the words of bongernet, I hear Satan's voice trying to entice you away from what you were first taught, and into a new realm that will only cause you great distress.

As to several others, God allowed the Israelites to live in bondage for 400 years before He sent Moses to free His people. Then He had them wander in the wilderness for forty years until every last scoffer had died, and only those who had never cursed God were left. Then He brought them into the Promised Land.

Why does He do this?
It is because He wants to let mankind take it's own course. He has already sent His Son to pay for the sins of all who will accept Him, now He sits back and waits to see who will and who will not turn to Him.

If you are a true Christian in your heart, you know what that was--God acting in your life--He wanted you to know He is still there, but where are you? I am glad you let Him know you are still there too.

We all get side tracked, go through trials and doubt, that is normal. But, we also have to get back on track too and more often than not, our Father is the one to tap us on the shoulder in some way to get our attention. Remember the verse about how he will guide our paths?

Keep praying and believing even when it is the most difficult to do. We all go through "dry" periods, it is to test, to draw us closer, etc.

I am sure you did well on your test!

That is a wonderful story, but why would God choose to help you remember that Washington had a wooden tooth, but reject little Mabubu's prayer for rice in the Sudan?

Humans have an incredible ability to apply 'God' to good things and absolve him from the bad.

Blessings and answers of prayer, inherently ignore the horrific things happening in the world.

I am sure you did well on the exam, when you get that feeling after a test, it is typically because your brain is telling your body to relax and release stress because it finished doing its job.

Keep at your education, it is well worth the effort.

So you scored well on your exam because you asked God to help you, not because you studied and attended classes for an entire semester and completed numerous relevant learning exercises? It was that last minute prayer that made you capable of answering the questions on the test?

Please, really think about this. It makes no sense to discount an entire semester of work and place responsibility for your own learning on God.

As for waking up in time, you knew you had something really important to do at a certain time. While it doesn't always work, our bodies do understand that kind of thing and are able to wake us up when necessary.

it sounds to me as if you are feeling guilty. don't. i have my own beliefs. very different from yours. but i know that what my goddess wants is for me to be living and loving life. god wont be angry because you forgot to say hi. and sins? as long as you are not harming another soul you are not committing any sin. be easy on yourself. you don't need to learn more about god. go out and enjoy the feel of the sun the sound of the birds. you are already in gods grace. you wake every day and have the chance to make another person smile. be happy and relax. maybe what you really need is a big cuddle.

God always helps those in need, expecially those who ask for help and repent for their sins. I have prayed before every final I've ever taken and God has always helped me. I do think that he did the same for u and probably will continue to do so. It's really good that u prayed it shows that u do have faith and with that help will come when u need it.

Not a THING wrong with that! As for all the world's other problems, Jesus said:

Mark 14:7 -- For ye have the poor with you always,...

People HAVE not because the ASK not. or they're asking the wrong god or the right one for the wrong reasons.

James 4:2 -- Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet YE HAVE NOT, BECAUSE YE ASK NOT.

Matthew 21:22 -- And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, BELIEVING, ye shall receive.

John 16:24 -- Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ASK, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

James 4:3 -- Ye ask, and receive not, BECAUSE YE ASK AMISS, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

1 John 3:22 -- And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

John 15:7 -- If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask WHAT YE WILL, and it SHALL be done unto you.

... even the small stuff!
