I have known a few girls that have recurring rape fantasies. In my limited experience, these girls have masochistic traits to their personalities. And when I say masochistic, I don't just mean sexually, I mean in many aspects of their lives.

What do others think? Does the existence of recurring fantasies of being raped show a strong masochistic streak

If a skilled counselor were to interview each of these girls individually, their is a very high probability that prior to the masochistic turn in their thoughts - these girls experienced sexual abuse.

A little understood aspect of teen female run-aways is their history of sexual abuse, and running to escape it.

I have this same fantasy but do not feel that I have masochistic traits. I am married and happy and enjoy letting my husband have complete control over me when we role play the rape fantasy. It has nothing to do with the desire to be humilated it is letting someone I love have complete control over what happens during a very emotional and loving experience.

Not really. Its more of an adrenaline rush. Perhaps they feel like they're under a lot of responsibilites at the time, and they feel like they want to be under the control of someone else to counter-balance that.

I think they "glamorise" things like that, but let me tell you as a person who HAS been raped it is neither fun, or glamorous or something worth fantasising about
