What's the big deal, anyway? If people followed the guidelines, there'd be no need to report abuse, would there?

Supposedly there is an internal mechanism where your reports are rated as being good or bad. I.e. if you report a lot and those reports are challenged and found to be in error, your credibility goes down.

It would be nice to see people's report rating as this would give an idea of if they were a good reporter or a bad one. Also the top 10 reporters may be reporting valid violations as opposed to just number of reports.

They are supposed to have people on their end watching for those that abuse the reporting system.

I guess, if we use yahoo, we just have to trust their judgment.

If you report too much, your vote doesn't really count. It's kinda like the boy who cried wolf. Y! does keep record of what's going on, it just isn't made public.
